In the summer we will:

•  We will shoot a portion of the film 'Geoff' a short film which involves sceneric shots which we can use to experiment with location, lighting and cinematography.
• We will experement with different tracking shots, crane shots and still shots

We intend to use the nature around us to show the wrold going to waste. Denali, the short film, inspired me to do this more because of its stunning visuals and framing. Lucie and I went out for a test shoot were we used local fields and hay bails to frame a person within a shot.

Dead Hungry-BFI Short Film

When I attended the BFI film academy I was shown a selection of award winning films that could inspire us for our short flm. During the day we were shown the short film Dead Hungry from BFI player. We all found ourselves laughing at the zombie and feeling sorry for it even though it was meant to be the anagonist of the story. I was really inspired by the special effects in this short and found that it made the film.  The makeup designer would later go on to work on The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.

Donald and Jess-Short Film

 

 

 

Continuing my serach on Vimeo, I found myself watching ahumours short film called Donald and Jess. I was drawn to this film because of the style and humour of the script. I liked the way we felt for Jess and Donald just throughout the film. The colour grading once again used more plainer tones to convey the mumdane situation both protagonsits are stuck in, Jess being her husband and Donald being his lack of confidance. All of the film was natural light which gave the film a sense of realism without exessive lighting.
